Fuschlsee begins to bloom

In May there is a special "blossom" week. Variety of events will take place in the resorts of Fuschl am See, Hof by Salzburg, Ebenau, Koppl, Faistenau, Hintersee and Thalgau.

Spring awakes in the Fuschlsee Region

The spring sun reflects in the Fuschl and Hintersee lake, the May poles are erected and everywhere Nature seem to shine in strong colours. After a cold winter in Austria one longs to dance, socialize, enjoy life and walk the mountains, to this purpose, the 7 resorts of the Holiday Region Fuschlsee invite you to participate in a week of "blossoming" in the Salzkammergut.

Koppl: Spring concert of the local Brass Band of Koppl
At the primary school, Price: € 8.- or €10.- at the evening box office. Children free up to 15 yrs. Operetta music and melodies from musicals.

Sunday, 6th May 2012 from 2 p.m.
Faistenau: The local dancers of “Zur Alte Linde” erect the May pole
The festively decorated May pole is drawn through the village by horses and then according to tradition, hieved up by the men of the village without mechanical help.This will be accompanied by music from the Brass Band of Faistenau.

The Kneipp Club invites everyone to join the Spring hike on the Thalgauberg. En route to the Gasthaus Wasenmoos, collect wild flowers with which you can create a flower picture of the Coat of Arms of Thalgau. The most original creation will be rewarded! Homeward hike is via the Bräukeller to Thalgau. Departure point: Musikum Thalgau

Fuschl am See: Season opening at the Ruming mill with presentation of the new "Alpine Wellness" project.
With musical entertainment and a programme of events, the new “Alpine Wellness” project and its partners will be presented, together with a programme of events. Yoga and fitness in the woods, Kneipp water-treading in the Ellmau stream, open-air massages and bread-baking on a stick for children. Culinary delicacies, milling demonstration and fresly made specialities from the new mill team. In the Kneipp herbal garden, Hermine Wesenauer will give you useful tips about herbs and the traditional smoking of herbs. There will also be a presentation of the new book “Wandern ins Glück”. If the weather is bad, the event will take place in the Fuschlseebad. Entrance free!

Hof bei Salzburg: "Traditional evening at the smoke house "Mühlgrub" - Play & Dance in the Spring- celebrate with dance music and games from yesteryear and of course culinary delights from the farmhouse kitchen. The 500 year old protected farmhouse offers the ideal setting to go back to the good old times.

Hof bei Salzburg: Mother's day at the smoke house "Mühlgrub". The day will be celebrated with music, reading of poems and culinary specialities and for every mother there will be a little present.

Sunday, 13th May 2012 from 11 a.m.
Hintersee: Mother's day hike to the Mayerlehen hut at the Gruberalm pasture in Hintersee. Enjoy spring on the alpine pasture and for every mother there will be a surprise!
