After a beautiful hiking, which starts in Fuschl am See, across the "Mühlenweg" through the wood - you will see the circa 150 year old Ruming Mill, which is a place of happiness.
Built in 1872, the Ruming Mill is an old water mill which belongs to the Ruming farm.
About 25 years ago it was decided to renovate the mill and open it to the public where the process of grinding the grain could be explained and demonstrated.
In days gone by, the farmers of the village used to bring their grain here to be ground by the miller. Fortunately in the village there was a carpenter who could build a new waterwheel, and slowly the Ruming mill came back to life.
Later it was decided to add a wood-fired bread oven and after a lot of searching an original oven was found and rebuilt in the baking house.
In summer you can visit the Ruming Mill. Wives from the village bake original farmhouse bread here once a week and the watermill is put into action.
Parking place in the centre of Fuschl am See or at the Fuschlseebad.
