The Dachstein giant ice caves are one of the three largest and fascinating ice caves in the world. They are a part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
Over 9 million visitors have been shown the unique cave labyrinth with huge natural ice formations, glaciers and ice chapels.
The Dachstein Mammoth caves are a labyrinth of limestone caves. Over 60 kilometres of underground gangs and 1200m of depth difference, these caves are some of the largest in the world. A cave explorer would need many months to get to know all the nooks and crannies.
Each year new parts are discovered.
Near the entrance huge tunnels, such as the Paläotraun, the mid-night cathedral, the arcade
gorge and the shadow chamber can be visited. The Mammoth caves give one a feeling of being never ending.
