Over 30.000 pieces of doll's house furniture etc. toys and bears are on show in this fascinating collection. Dating back to the 17th century, these doll's kitchens were the learning toys of wealthy daughters in preparation for their role as lady of the house. Later in the 19th century these articles became toys in the real sense. Moreover in this historic building, which has recently been renovated, the life of Joseph Mohr is documented. As text writer of th eChristmas Carol "Silent Night, Holy Night", Joseph Mohr spent 9 years in Hintersee from 1828 to 1837.
